We are a European Company and strive to only deploy a European tech stack where possible. Being bootstrapped also gives us the freedom to focus on what truly matters: building a tool that delivers real value to our users, without being constrained by investor demands.

We are proud to be a European company with a strong commitment to data privacy and security. We strive to increase digital sovereignty with Fink Translate by ensuring all infrastructure and deployments are strictly located within the European Union. Our application is hosted in Helsinki on servers by Hetzner and we use a managed Postgres database located in Sweden. We use AI models from Mistral AI as part of our translation technology.

Why "Fink"?
In German, a "Fink" is a finch, a type of bird. The design of the app was inspired by the look of the Gimpel, known in English as the Bullfinch. We love birds, and 1% of all revenue goes to NABU e.V., Germany's largest nature conservation organization, to support bird protection projects.
